Harry and Meghan step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family.

“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family, and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages. This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity. We look forward to sharing the full details of this exciting next step in due course, as we continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge, and all relevant parties. Until then, please accept our deepest thanks for your continued support.”

I am so proud of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. The hardest working Royals(not Princess Ann, with her ultra brief appearances) stepping back means The Queen Consort to be has to pull her weight, instead of just thinking being William’s wife is enough. It would be interesting to find out Prince Charles opinion of the step back. I think he supports Meghan and Harry. the Queen is too archaic in her view. thus the resistance to progressive ideas. I hope the Sussex Squad worldwide rally around Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.

Rose has said exactly what I would have said. This news is highly welcome. We all felt belaboured (let us not even begin to talk about what Doria must have gone through, seeing her only daughter maligned every minute)by the abuses from the British press and the ‘palace sources’. They can continue to enshrine their Catherine and William.
History has recorded what these people did to Meghan…and by extension ,Harry whom they claimed to adore.

Now i find this funny to see how these bullying idiots are reacting, foaming on the mouth yet they were the same people who always said that the Sussexes don’t matter, that the Duke is only 6th in the line & he will never be king , that his wife don’t matter blablabla & now they’re stepping back & these same people don’t like it.

Indeed Rose so well said & if i may add the Sussexes are one intelligent couple soo brilliant & as for me i applaud them on their clever foreseen move, for imagine the torment envious William can give them when the time comes for him to take over so its better for them to be out & away.

I am very glad they have taken this step. I wouldn’t be surprised if they step back even further when the Queen is gone. In the statement they emphasize continued support for “HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN”, that is it.
I love the way they broke down all the finances for all those people who felt like they owned them because they contributed a dollar a year! The icing on the cake was the figure the RF brings in From tourism far outweighs what the public spends. There were quite a few well placed barbs, beautifully done Harry and Meghan, and you are going to do great things.
Now the insipid ones can have the stage all to themselves as they have wanted all along. Get ready to see children front and center.
