The Duchess of Sussex wore shoes from her pre-royal days on her first official visit to SmartWorks. The Duchess has privately visited SmartWorks several times in the past, unbeknown by the press. During those visits the Duchess was able to donate, learn more about the charity, and assist participants. SmartWorks is a charity that helps women obtain employment by dressing and helping them with their interview skills. The charity assists 3,500 women in a year. The publicity that the Duchess will bring to this organization will no doubt facilitate more women to be empowered.
Smart Works helps long term unemployed and vulnerable women regain the skills, confidence and tools to succeed at job interviews, return to employment and transform their lives. The Duchess joined a round table discussion with volunteers at the headquarters in London and then met some of the women in the Dressing Room, who have been successful in interviews following their time at SmartWorks.
