The lies and mistruths published by the media have empowered some disturbed trolls to set up Websites, YouTube Channels, podcasts, Facebook and Instagram pages for the sole purpose of smearing Duchess Meghan.
The British media’s over-the-top coverage of the Duchess of Sussex’s Baby Shower intentionally omits information pertaining to this event to support their negative spin, not to mention that the cost of this event rises with each report.
Prior to the arrival of Duchess Meghan, royal watching was predominantly a white place. New royal watchers, who many assumed to be black, brought diversity to the conversation. This new group, comprising millions worldwide, represents a mixture of races, cultures, age, social status, education, gender, etc.
I call it Twitter-Gate not because this story is as scandalous as the stories referenced earlier but to point out the scandalous evidence of abject laziness and lack of originality in the UK press.
The British media show no sign of reducing the barrage of depreciating headlines about Duchess Meghan. This comes as no surprise given their financial dependence on her for online advertising revenue.
No other woman who has married into the British royal family has faced the avalanche of vitriolic, racist and sexist tabloid criticism that Duchess Meghan has endured.
British tabloids did not welcome Meghan Markle when her relationship with Prince Harry became public. They did not welcome Meghan Markle following the couple’s engagement announcement. The tabloids did not welcome Duchess Meghan after Kensington Palace announced that she was pregnant.
Either you complain or you explain but sitting on the fence and allowing this abuse to continue in the face of an audience who in many ways have been drawn to the Royal Family since Meghan Markle joined is simply no longer an option.
“Taxpayer’s money doesn’t pay for the weddings. Last year’s wedding was paid for by the Queen. Yes, taxpayer’s money paid for security. Who do you think is paying security tomorrow for the Pride March? Taxpayer’s money.”
How British tabloids use fake outrage about taxpayers’ money to attack Princess Meghan.
